This was the third Diwali away from home..and i miss all the sweets so much...after 2 long years away from india i have lost the fun and interest with which we celebrate it there. It could never be the same. Be it Christmas or Haloween and you can see, feel a holiday kinda feeling in the air.. diwali takes a backseat here if it's on weekday. Some relief that came to me this diwali is that i had received a job offer on friday asking me to join after 10 days in Washington DC. So my diwali time went in arranging things..packing bags and wht not. Moving is sucha pain..When interviewing i used to confidently utter the words like.."I am willing to relocate, willing to travel, available immediately to work etc etc.." Now i curse myself for this :p

Coz living 2 yrs at a single place i have accumulated so many things..that it is impossible for me to handle all my stuff..and i tend to keep the older stuff...always thinking i might need it some day..or i'll wear this dress pretty soon. I had two bags to be given to Mission Arlington, 2 bags of trash still i am left with 3 overweight bags, 3 boxes and 2 small bags :p After receiving final confirmation and tickets booked i used to sit with my stuff all around the house, stuffing the bags then weighing them and it was always more than 50 pounds..i mean just the empty bag weighs 11-12 pounds how can you fit in all your stuff in it.. Believe me next time i would call packers and movers where you dont have to do anything :P

After a series of so many things happening at the end..treating ppl, changing addresses, calling the so-called relatives to let them know my whereabouts, settling accounts, arranging for accomodation and finally boarding the flight to DC. What happened at the airport is another long story...i can brief it up as i was at the airport from 9 am to 10 pm..yeah no kidding..and it was really tiring and literally sucking. I have sweared not to take a Air Tran Airways flight never never again..One good thing that happened was that i recieve an offer from another company which is better than the one i was joining..

So here i am in a nice townhouse in Virginia..the fall season ending here..its damn beautiful :D After a week or so all these colourful leaves will fall off and really chilling winter will set in..here they say it doesnt snow like in NJ, NY but its more fun here :) I and Rajita went for a walk in the evening as i had to fax some papers....saw the nearby shopping complex...we came back after 4 hours of walk, almost went ahead till the main streets, its so beautiful, weather little cold and sunny with all the scenic trees around and nice trails carved along..i would live here forever :) Yeah..this place is just awesome :D And the girls already living here are so sweet..its just like home..you know where you expect the least, you find more happiness. Coz i never knew them from before and i was apprenhensive about my stay here. In one single day i feel like i know them from long :)

Have to move again mostly to Philly next week for the new job from this place too..so there you go with the title..i am a stranded roadwarrior ;) na ghar hai na thikana...
